Guest House | São José Villa, Portugal

Situated in São José Villa, Alcobaça, Portugal, this guest house underwent an extensive renovation, with only the external walls and the roof found to be in good condition and thus preserved.

The resulting empty shell was then transformed into three independent spaces through the incorporation of a ‘cube’ in the centre of the room. The ‘cube’ accommodates the bathroom inside, while one of its walls serves as kitchen and fireplace. Surrounding it, there is the bedroom on one side and the lounge area on the other side.

In the same Villa, in Portugal, we developed another project – the interior swimming pool. Here the intention was to refurbish the actual building, choose new materials and a new ventilation system, and build a new adjacent space with the gymnasium and the spa.

Through the use of noble materials, the interior design proposal aims to accentuate the building’s architectural sophistication.

The objective is to achieve a sense of conformity and unity in the building’s image, including architecture, design, and branding.

Searching for an image of luxury and sophistication, the general concept for the interior design relies on the choice of textured materials and elegant tones, which refer to the surrounding landscape of both beach and city.

REStaurant | luanda, angola

The brief called for the incorporation of hexagonal shapes and golden tones. Next to the city, and on the beach, the restaurant was designed to be utilized both day and night.

The striking and opulent materials create a captivating contrast against the sleek and sturdy cement surfaces. The space is divided into four distinct areas: an outdoor terrace, a stylish bar/lounge, a restaurant area, and a secluded section delineated by hexagonal dining spaces.

The project involves transforming two apartments into a unique space, offering panoramic views of the sea on one side, and the city of Luanda on the other.

The new social areas are connected by an elegant timber wall that serves multiple functions throughout the space. A patio, adorned with a blossoming tree, acts as the heart of the dwelling, harmoniously arranging the various zones and serving as a focal point.

In the master bedroom, floor-to-ceiling shelves separate different areas and showcase the owners’ special belongings.

chicalamar building | luanda, angola

“Chicalamar building, located between the sea and the city, stands out in the Luanda’s skyline. The building is essentially residential, with 65 apartments in the upper floors of different typologies. In the ground floor and first level there is a restaurant and common spaces for the residents, including swimming pool, gymnasium, changing rooms and private access to the beach.”*

foxdale community school | zambia

“Located in Zambia, Foxdale Community School is inspired by nature and human scale in a sensitive and functional way. Light and materiality define a comfortable space for both students and teachers. A modular system defines the general structure of the campus, workspaces and leisure spaces around patios, which establish a connection between them. The rooms are developed according to a regular mesh that allows a future increase of the installations.”*
